Our client is currently seeking a Billing Manager Position
Summary:
Manage all functions of Ascend Hospice and Palliative care billing, collections and credentialing as well as preparing hospice cost reports, CAP, and utilization reports, etc.
Maintains current knowledge of billing requirements for Medicare Part A & B, Medicaid and commercial payors.
Monitors and assists with the monthly billing close to ensure all deadlines are met.
Performs other duties as required by management.

Efficiently and competently manages the billing and collection functions of Ascend Hospice in accordance with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.
oPerform billing processes for all companies within the appropriate timeframe to ensure claims are accurately submitted oEnsures that all revenue is captured on a timely basis oMonitor all collection activities to ensure DSO is maintained oDirects the data entry process ensuring that data is entered timely and accurately into the electronic medical record (EMR) oMaintains current knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third party billing requirements oEnsures timely follow up on all claims and appeals oVerifies that new states/facilities/payors/rates are appropriately set up in the EMR oEnsures timely depositing of all Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payors remittance advice oOversees and participates in month end billing close process to ensure deadlines are met oKeeps CFO and/or management abreast of all billing and collection concerns oResponsible for preparing and submitting the required Medicare/Medicaid annual cost reports, utilization reports, and CAP self-determinations as well as quarterly credit balance reports, etc.
oSubmits and works with all payors for credentialing purposes oMaintain and update SOPs oParticipates in performance improvement activities oRecognizes and performs all duties required by management F.
Maintains and completes all required documentation related to the Billing Function oVerifies that the required documentation is present in patient record prior to claims submission oProduces data reports as requested oRecognizes and performs duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned.
G.
Assists in creating an environment that promotes work force recruitment, retention and development within assigned areas to achieve and maintain quality services, and positive employee relations oAssists with interviewing, hiring, training, appraising, rewarding and disciplining duties in accordance with Ascend Hospice policies and procedures oAdequately directs and supervises billing staff in performance of their duties oArranges coverage for essential functions in the absence of staff oClearly and effectively communicates policies & procedures to staff and ensures staff compliance with policies oEstablishes and maintains effective channels of communication between personnel and services oParticipates in staff development programs including orientation, in-service, continuing education, competency testing and performance improvement initiatives oRecognizes and performs duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned.
